Gram-positive rods of various shapes, forming a branched structure with ‘Y’ on both
sides. Non-spore-forming. Non-motile.
Colonies are transparent white and slightly irregular, 1 mm in diameter after 2 days of
incubation under anaerobic conditions on WSP agar (Wilkins-Chalgren agar
supplemented with GMO-free soya peptone 5 g/l, L-cysteine hydrochloride 0.5 g/l and
Tween 80, 1 ml/l). Grows at temperature 30-37 ºC (optimum 37 ºC; no growth at 20,
46 or 49 ºC), pH 4.5-9.0 (optimum pH 6.5). Grows under anaerobic and
microaerophilic conditions.
Isolated from a fecal sample of a chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes), Czech zoo.
Undetermined.
