Gram-positive rods of various shapes, forming a branched structure with a ‘Y’ at the
end. Non-motile. Asporogenous.
Colonies are white, smooth, opaque, 1.5-2.5 mm in diameter after 2 days of
anaerobic incubation on TPY agar. Non-haemolytic. Optimum growth temperature 37
ºC; range 25-42 ºC. No growth at 20 or 44 ºC. Grows at pH 4.5-7.5. Survive under
microaerophilic conditions.
Isolated from faeces of common marmoset  (Callithrix jacchus).

arylamidase, tyrosine arylamidase, urease, acid production from L-arabinose, cellobiose, D-fructose, D-glucose, lactose, maltose,
D-mannose, raffinose and sucrose.

Negative results for alpha-arabinosidase, catalase, alpha-chymotrypsin, cysteine arylamidase, alpha-fucosidase, alpha- and
beta-galactosidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, indole production, lipase, nitrates reduction,
N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, oxidase, valine arylamidase, acid production from D-adonitol, amygdalin, D-arabinose, D and
L-arabitol, arbutin, dulcitol, erythritol, D-fucose, D-galactose, gentibiose, gluconate, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, inositol, inulin, D-lyxose,
D-mannitol, melibiose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-manopyranoside, N-acetylglucosamine, rhamnose,

Variable results for acid production from glycerol, glycogen, melezitose, methyl beta-D-xylopyranoside, salicin and D-xylose.
