Gram-positive slightly curved short rods with tapered ends, 0.6-0.8 x 2.0-4.0 µm,
occurring singly, in pairs or in short chains; longer, thicker or spindle-shaped cells
are common after transfers. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are smooth, flat to convex, entire, cream to white, soft, glistening, and
punctiform to 1 mm in diameter after 2 days of anaerobic incubation on BL agar.
Growth temperature 36-38 ºC; no growth at 28 or 47 ºC. Optimum pH for growing is
6.8-7,3; no growth at pH 8.9. Anaerobic.
Isolated from rabbit faeces.
