Gram-positive rods of various shapes, forming a branched structure with a ‘Y’ at the
end. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, smooth, opaque, 1.0-2.0 mm in diameter after 3 days of
anaerobic incubation on TPY agar. Non-haemolytic. Can grow at 22-48 ºC, optimally
at 37 ºC, not at 20 or 44 ºC. Grows at pH 4.0-8.0, optimally at pH 7.0. Grows under
aerophilic and microaerophilic conditions.
Isolated from faeces of a baby of the common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus).
