Gram-positive. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, 1.0-2.5 mm in diameter on MRS agar. Can grow at 25 and 40 ºC,
not at 20 or 45 ºC. Grows at pH 4.0-6.0. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from a faecal sample of a Goeldi’s marmoset (Callimico goeldi).

Positive results for arginine deamination, indole production, acid production from
D-arabinose (weak), cellobiose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D-glucose, inulin,
D-mannitol, melibiose, N-acetylglucosamine, raffinose, D-ribose, D-sorbitol,
sucrose, trehalose, turanose and D-xylose.
Negative results for catalase, gelatin hydrolysis, H2S production, nitrate reduction, urease, Voges-Proskauer test, acid production
from L-fucose, N-acetylgalactosamine and pullulan.
Variable and weak results for D-mannose, maltodextrin, pullulan, L-rhamnose and starch.
