Bifidobacterium actinocoloniiforme Killer, Kopecny, Mrazek, Koppova, Havlik, Benada and Kott 2011.
Gram-positive very irregularly shaped rods, 0.2-0.4 x 0.6-1.0 µm, with frequent
constrictions and deformities, occurring in chains or in filament forms. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are cream in colour, with sharp edges and small irregular cores, 0.1-2.2
mm in diameter after 2 days of incubation under anaerobic conditions on TPY agar.
Anaerobic; no growth on agar under microaerophilic conditions. Growth temperature
10-40 ºC, optimum 37 ºC; no growth at 5 ºC. Grows at pH 5.0, weak growth at pH 4.5.
Isolated from the digestive tract contents of a bumblebee (Bombus lucorum), Czech Republic.
Undetermined.
