and Raoult 2004.
Description is based upon a single isolate.
Gram-positive, motile (peritrichous flagella) rods, 0.5 x 2.0-4.0 μm. Produce
ellipsoidal spore in swollen sporangium.
Grows on routine media. Colonies are beige, flat and translucent after 24 hours at 30
ºC. Nonhemolytic. Aerobic and anaerobic growth. Optimum growth temperature 30-37
ºC. Can grow at 50 ºC. Grow in 2% and 5% NaCl.
The type strain was isolated from human blood culture sample.
Sensitive to amoxicillin, gentamicin, doxycycline, erythromycin, trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole, rifampicine and vancomycin.
The type strain was isolated from blood culture sample of a 14-year-old boy  suffering from lymphoblastic leukemia with fever and
neutropenia.
