citrate 2.0 g, Sorbitan monooleate 1.0 g, MgSO
4 *7H2O 0.57 g, MnSO4.7H2O 0.12 g,
FeSO4.H
2O 0.03 g, Acetic acid (glacial) 1.32 ml.
Streptococcus equinus & Streptococcus gallolyticus selective medium.
QUALITY CONTROL
Incubate 3 days at 35 ºC or  5 days at 30 ºC, better in CO2 -enriched atmosphere.
Lactobacillus gasseri ATCC 19992:  good growth; yellow colonies.
Escherichia coli ATCC 25922: no growth.
Bacillus cereus ATCC 11778: no grow.
COMPOSITION
Peptone 10 g, Meat extract 8 g, Yeast extract 4 g, Glucose 20 g, Sodium acetate 3H
2O
5 g, Tween 80 1 g, Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate 2 g, Triammonium citrate 2 g,
Magnesium sulfate 7H
2O 0.2 g, Manganese sulphate 4H2O 0.05 g, Agar 10 g, H2O ad
1000 ml, Final pH 6.2 at 25 °C.

Sterilize by autoclaving at 118 ºC for 15 minutes. Aspect: medium to dark amber
coloured, clear to slightly opalescent.
DESCRIPTION
A special medium containing growth factors for lactic acid bacteria (
Lactobacillus spp. and related germs) from dairy products, foods,
feces and other sources.
