Gram-negative, motile rods, 1.0-2.0 x 0.5 μm.
The colonies are white-yellowish, smooth with regular margins and, after 2-3 days,
produce a yellow diffusible pigment giving a light yellow-green fluorescence under UV
light (254 nm). After 2-3 weeks, colonies on King B medium produce a dark brown
pigment that colours the colony and the agar.
Growth temperature 28 ºC. Grows on Luria-Bertani medium.
Isolated from farm soil in Germany.

melibiose, ribose, sucrose, trehalose and D-xylose (API 50 CH).
