 Vanparys et al. 2006.
Gram-negative, rod-shaped cells, 1 μm x 2–3 μm, with rounded ends, nonspore-
forming, nonfluorescent, motile.
Colonies are 1-2 mm, smooth, round with irregular edges and beige (after 24 h
incubation at 28 ºC on TSA). Aerobic. After 24 h, good growth is observed at 22–28 ºC,
but not at 4 ºC or above 37 ºC.
Isolated from nitrifying inoculum (activated sludge).
Unknown (none).

Positive results for nitrate reduction, oxidase, catalase, acid phosphatase, utilization of:
D-galactose, caprate, malate & citrate.

Negative results for esterase, esterase lipase, lipase, valine arylamidase, trypsin, chymotrypsin, cystine arylamidase, alpha-
galactosidase, beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha-glucosidase, beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta glucosaminidase,
