Colonies are beta-hemolytic on sheep blood agar and V-factor independent.
Growth on MacConkey is variable.
Isolated from Californian desert tortoises (Gopherus agassizii).
Isolated from healthy tortoises and from tortoises with upper respiratory tract disease.
