Colonies are small, circular, entire, convex, moist, light yellow to grey and
nonhaemolytic. No growth is observed on MacConkey agar after 5 days. Facultative
anaerobe. Grows between 10 and 42 ºC.

Some results are based on API NH and API ZYM identification systems.

Positive results for alkaline phosphatase, catalase, cystine arylamidase,
esterase lipase (C8), gamma-glutamyltransferase, nitrate reduction & oxidase.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, aesculin hydrolysis, beta-galactosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, H
2S production (in triple-sugar
iron agar), indole production, lysine decarboxylase, ornithine decarboxylase, Simmons’ citrate, urease, valine arylamidase, acid
production from: L-arabinose, cellobiose, dulcitol, D-fructose, D-galactose, glycerol, inositol, inulin, lactose, maltose, D-mannitol, D-
mannose, melibiose, raffinose, D-rhamnose, D-salicin, D-sorbitol, sucrose, trehalose & D-xylose.

Acid production from glucose is variable (usually negative, but positive in API NH (2 strains) and peptone water medium  (1 strain).
