Gram-negative cells, grouped in multicellular ﬁlaments that are ﬂat rather than
cylindrical and often segmented into groups of eight cells. Cell dimensions varies
from 2.0 to 8.0 μm in diameter, and 0.5 to 1.3 μm in length. The long axis of the
individual cells is perpendicular to the long axis of the ﬁlament.Gliding motility of the
entire ﬁlament in the direction of the long axis when the ﬂat side of the ﬁlament is in
contact with a surface. Endospores are not formed.
Isolated from the oral cavity of sheep.
Inhabitant of the oral cavity of warm-blooded vertebrates, where it apparently is nonpathogenic.
