Colonies are round, entire, convex and colourless, 1.0-2.0 mm diameter on R2A agar
after 48 h incubation at 25 ºC. Growth occurs at 10-42 ºC (optimum, 25-30 ºC). Grows
at pH 7.0-9.0 (optimum, pH 7.0) and with 0-3% NaCl (optimum, 0.5%). Aerobic.

Gram-negative rods, 0.8 x 1.5-2.3 μm. Motile by a single polar flagellum. Non-spore-

Isolated from a water sample from a pond used for the culture of soft-shell turtles (Trionyx sinensis), Pingtung County, Taiwan.
Susceptible to tetracycline, kanamycin, rifampicin, gentamicin, penicillin G, chloramphenicol, nalidixic acid, novobiocin, streptomycin,
ampicillin and sulfamethoxazole + trimethoprim.
