Colonies on R2A are cream-coloured, round and convex with clear margins. Growth
occurs at  4-35 ºC and in pH 4.0-8.0, optimally in pH 4.0. Facultatively anaerobic. Can
grow on MacConkey agar.

Phylum Proteobacteria, Class Betaproteobacteria, Order Neisseriales, Family Chromobacteriaceae, Genus Paludibacterium,
Paludibacterium yongneupense Kwon et al. 2008, type species of the genus.
Gram-negative, curved rods, 0.6-0.9 x 2.0-4.0 μm, occuring singly or in pairs. Motile by
means of a single polar flagellum.  Non-spore-forming. Poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate is
not accumulated.
Isolated from a wetland, Yongneup, in Inje region, Republic of Korea.
Resistant to penicillin G and ampicillin. Sensitive to nalidixic acid, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, rifampicin, tetracycline, novobiocin,
kanamycin, streptomycin, and sulfamethoxazole + trimethoprim.
