Colonies on nutrient agar are smooth, mucoid, round and cream-coloured,  1.5-2 mm
in diameter
. Growth occurs at 15-45 ºC, optimally at 30–37 ºC. Can grow in pH 5.0-
11.0. Can grow on on MacConkey agar.
Can grow in 1.0 % (w/v) NaCl but not in 2%
NaCl.
Aerobic. No anaerobic growth in the presenceof nitrate.

tetracycline (15 μg/ml), nalidixic acid (20 μg/ml), rifampicin (20 μg/ml) and ampicillin (40 μg/ml).
