Family Campylobacteraceae
Gram negative spirally curved rods, S-shaped or gull-winged, motile by a
polar flagellum, microaerophilic or sometimes anaerobic. Carbohydrates
are not fermented or oxidized. Generally oxidase & catalase positive.

Campylobacter hyoilei Alderton et al.
1995 is a later heterotypic synonym of  
Campylobacter coli  Véron and
Chatelain 1973

Campylobacter mustelae was
transfered to genus Helicobacter as
H. mustelae Goodwin et al. 1989.
