Gram-positive coccoid cells, non-motile, grouped in pairs, tetrads or small groups.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are alpha-hemolytic, nonpigmented, circular, under 1 mm in diameter after
72 h on Columbia blood agar at 37 ºC. After 72 h of cultivation on MRS agar plates at
30 ºC, pinpoint colonies are circular, grey–white or white and under 0.5 mm  diameter.
Facultatively anaerobic. Growth is inhibited by 2 % oxgall. Growth occurs at 30–45 ºC,
pH 6.0–8.0 and in broth supplemented with 4.0 % NaCl.
Isolated from the vaginal mucosa of a beef cow in Japan.

Positive results for alkaline phosphatase, hippurate hydrolysis, C4 esterase, leucine aminopeptidase, cystine aminopeptidase, acid
phosphatase, naphthol-ASBI-phosphohydrolase, beta-galactosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, alanine-phenylalanine-proline
arylamidase, glycine-tryptophan arylamidase, acid production (after 7 days incubation at 30 ºC)  from: N-acetylglucosamine,
D-fructose, D-galactose, D-glucose (without gas production), D-mannose,  maltose, D-ribose & D-tagatose.

Negative results for arginine hydrolysis, aesculin hydrolysis,  arginine hydrolysis, acetoin production, nitrate reduction, urease, C8
esterase, C14 lipase, valine aminopeptidase, trypsin, chymotrypsin, alpha-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and
beta-glucosidase, alpha-mannosidase, alpha-fucosidase, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase, pyroglutamic acid arylamidase,
beta-mannosidase, acid production from: D-adonitol, aesculin ferric citrate, amygdalin, arbutin, D- and L-arabinose, D- and L-arabitol,
cellobiose, dulcitol, erythritol, D- and L-fucose, gentiobiose, gluconate, 2- and 5- ketogluconate, glycerol, glycogen, inositol, inulin,
