Gram-positive short pleomorphic rods, arranged in V-shapes or palisades. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are translucent, convex, 0.5 mm in diameter, after 48 h on sheep blood agar,
under aerobic conditions. Beta-haemolytic. Grows optimally at 37 ºC. No growth at 42
ºC. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the prepuce of European bison bulls (Bison bonasus).

Positive results for esterase C4, esterase-lipase C8, alpha-glucosidase, beta-
glucuronidase, leucine arylamidase, pyrazinamidase, acid production from: D-fructose & D-glucose.

Negative results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, cystine arylamidase, alpha-chymotripsin, gelatin hydrolysis, alpha- and
beta-galactosidase, beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, lipase C14, nitrate reduction,  oxidase, pyrrolidonyl
arylamidase, urease, valine arylamidase, acid production from: D- and L-arabitol, erythritol, glycogen, lactose, D-mannitol, D-ribose,
sucrose & D-xylose.

Variable results for trypsin, acid production from: adonitol, glycerol & maltose.
