Gram-positive rods, 1-2 / 0.5 μm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies have a weak zone of haemolysis in microaerobic conditions on sheep blood
agar. Facultative anaerobic. Grows at 37 ºC. CAMP-like reactions and reverse CAMP
reaction are positive.
Isolated from vaginal and anal swabs of harbour seals.

alpha-mannosidase, pyrazinamidase, acid production from: D-glucose, glycogen, lactose, maltose, D-ribose & sucrose.

Negative results for caseinase, esculin hydrolysis, alpha-fucosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, alpha-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase,
beta-glucosidase, hippurate hydrolysis, alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, urease, acid production from: mannitol &
D-xylose.

Variable results for alkaline phosphatase, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase & N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase.
