Gram-negative coccobacilli. Nonmotile. Nonsporulated.
Colonies on Nutrient agar are circular, convex, smooth and slightly opaque. Aerobic.
Nonhemolytic on horse blood agar. Growth occurs at 37 and 41 ºC, but not at 44 ºC.
Isolated from activated sludge in Victoria, Australia.

glucose 6-phosphate, pimelate, cis-aconitate, trans-aconitate, adipate, 4-aminobutyrate, azelate, citrate, malonate, oxoisocaprate,
suberate, beta-alanine, L-arginine, L-aspartate, L-glutamate, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan, L-leucinamide,
4-hydroxybenzoate & phenylacetate.

Acid is not produced from glucose, D-sucrose, D-mannitol, dulcitol, salicin, D-maltose, D-trehalose, methyl beta-D-xyloside and
m-erythritol.
