GENERAL FIXES: identification engine improvement
1. Identification formula in "Normal mode" was changed, id% beeing now 3 to 7% higher. "Forced mode" formula was not
modified. Results before June 1st may have minor variations.
2. Taxons below 75% probability are no more listed, returning now "Taxon not found" message. Change was made in order
to avoid confusions when user is trying to identify a taxon that is not included in database.
Accuracy results corrected.

The most important is the “Salmonella serovars identification”. Based on updated Kauffman-White scheme, a 2570
Salmonella serovars database is now available. It can be accessed from the “Log in” page.
Second service: we have added a "Software limitations" page where all identifiable taxons are listed and biochemical tests
are evaluated. The service evaluates the biochemical tests, providing information about discrimination power, variability and
reliability. Reviewing these performance indicators may be useful for selecting the best tests or minimal requirements for
identification. It can be accessed from the biochemical identification main page.
Third: the molecular identification has now the A+T / G+C ratio calculation option.

End of November brings to ABIS ten new streptococci and seven corynebacteria. Most Streptococci are oral isolates.

Biochemical tests revison of Streptococcus merionis, S. ovis, S. oralis, S. gallinaceus, S. criceti, S. pseudopneumoniae, and
H2S production and indole production were removed as they have little significance for identification. They were replaced by
ribose fermentation and alpha-glucosidase activity tests.

The last app version in Google Play is now 12.3 and is optimized for android version 5.
The minimal number of required test for identification was raised from seven to eight.
The default identification mode is now set to "Auto". This mode will let the computer decide which mode to use, "Normal" or

2. Antibiogram interpreter changes:
- Added CLSI disk diffusion criteria for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Neisseria. Please note that EUCAST
committee has not yet defined the disk diffusion criteria for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Neisseria. Use the
MIC breakpoints or the CLSI standard instead.
- Removed Vancomycin test from CLSI and Custom Staphylococcus databases.
- Revision of Oxacillin test in Staphylococcus CLSI database and added Cefoxitin as surrogate for Oxacillin when
testing S. aureus, S. lugdunensis and coagulase-negative staphylococci.
- A CLSI Enterococcus database malfunction due to an error in input panel, was corrected.
